Obituary of Marissa Sieras Audet

After a long and courageous struggle with cancer, Marissa passed on Sunday, October 17, 2021. Pre deceased by her husband Perry Patrick Audet, Marissa leaves behind their beloved daughter Christiana Maria Audet. 

Born June 10, 1974 to Cirila Sieras and Cornelio Sanguenza in the City of Loon, Province of Bohol, Republic of the Philippines, Marissa is survived by her mother Cirila; her siblings Lisa Villamor, Maribeth Laput, Merla Camarinta, Verola Salinas, Sister Maria Amata Casiana, Gregorio Sanguenza, Paterno Sanguenza, Cirino Sanguenza, and Cornelio Sanguenza Jr. Marissa is also survived by her in-laws Daniel and Marie Reine Audet and Perry’s siblings Nancy (Jeffrey), Michael (Lucy), and Christine (late Georges).

Marissa also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.

Marissa led a life of work and world travel that eventually brought her to Canada; her marriage to Perry; the birth of their daughter Christiana; and, Canadian citizenship.

The family greatly appreciates the efforts of all of those who attended to Marissa throughout the various stages of her illness and in the final days of her time of need. Particular thanks to Dr. Linda Lee, Elizabeth VanOudheudsen, Dr. Kim Scher , Shelly Gagnon, Rebecca Maves, Tanya Bolus, Neonita and Martin Burger, Gus, Kathy, and Alysa Kontogianis, Marissa’s Personal Support Workers and the staff of the Douglas Memorial Palliative Care Department.

Cremation has taken place. Arrangements entrusted to Benner Funeral Services, Fort Erie, Ontario.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday November 5, at 2 p.m. at St. Michael's Roman Catholic Church, Fort Erie., Ontario. A Livestream will be available through St. Michael's Facebook page. Interment to follow at St. Michael's Cemetery, Fort Erie.
