Obituary of Giovannina Delle Rose

DELLE ROSE Giovannina - Cherished mother and nonna, died peacefully at the Jewish General Hospital in Montreal, Quebec on Wednesday, May 31, 2017. Born in Panni, Italy, she was the third youngest of eleven children. It was in Italy where she met and fell in love with her husband, Michele Delle Rose and raised her three children. At 35 years old, she and her family moved to Canada. Family was of highest importance to Giovannina. She loved family gatherings and being around her grandchildren. She also enjoyed spending time outside and making delicious meals. Giovannina was witty, funny, hardworking and loyal. Her talents were endless. Her crocheted pieces were impeccable and beautiful. She was also an excellent seamstress, cook, and of course, her prized possession, gardener. All who knew Giovannina well would have been the recipient of vegetables from her very large garden; either forced to take some home or to sit down and eat what was prepared with them. Giovannina retired from Irvin Industries Canada Ltd. in 1994 after 25 years of service. She is survived by her two children: Letizia Lina Delle Rose of Montreal, Quebec and Antonio (Maria) Delle Rose, of Fort Erie, Ontario. She was a loving Nonna to Jenny, Michael, Tony and Connie Delle Rose; Daniel Bianco, Nadia Bianco, Adriana (Rachid) Bianco-Raissi and Maurizio (Annie) Bianco; Gina (Glen) Delle Rose-Ash, Michael (Sarah) Delle Rose and Luke (Ornella) Delle Rose. Giovannina was also a Bis Nonna to Ethan Bianco; Damiano, Juliana & Alessio Raissi and Carson & Lila Ash. She is also survived by her brother Alfonzo (Francesca) and her sisters Maria & Carmela; all of Italy. Giovannina was predeceased by her husband Michele Delle Rose, her son Vito Delle Rose and her parents Decio and Antonia De Cotiis. She is also predeceased by her siblings; Marcangelo (Dolorata), Michele (Concetta), Guiseppe (Catarina) and brother in laws, Amalio and Nicola, all of Italy. She also joins in heaven three siblings that passed very early in life. Benner Funeral Services (1105 Benner Ave; Fort Erie) has been entrusted with arrangements. The family will receive visitors on Monday, June 5, 2017 from 2pm-4pm and 7pm - 9pm at Benner Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at 11am at St. Michael's Roman Catholic Church.
