Obituary of Jack Griem

Griem: John Henry "Jack” John passed away at the peacefully surrounded by the love and presence of his family at the Douglas Memorial Hospital on Wednesday July 24th, 2013 at the age of 75. Loved and cherished husband of Jean. Proud father of Pamela (James) Yorfido, Robert (Lynda), Sandra (Michael) Turner and Kenneth (Christine). Cherished grandfather of Matthew, Ashton, Steven, Shannen, David, Derek, Amy and Darin. Great Grandfather of Alexander and Elsa. He will be sadly missed by his many nieces and nephews. John served in the United States Army - Fort Brag, North Carolina. He earned a scholarship and played college basketball for St. Bonaventure in Olean N.Y.. Born and Raised in Gowanda N.Y., Jack was a proud volunteer firefighter, and avid sportsman and president of the Cattaraugus N.Y. Rod and Gun Club. In 1971 he came with his family to Canada and was employed as the Plant Manager of Setter Brothers in Fort Erie until his retirement. Jack’s faithful companion, his 23 yr. old cat Sheba passed away the same evening. At Jack’s request, private family services following cremation will take place in Otto New York.
