I was so very saddened hear of Carmen's passing. I remember him so fondly as a former colleague of 25 years. I would be greeted with his contagious smile each morning and share many humorous moments throughout the day. He had a wonderful sense of humour. I will also remember him as a caring, kind, quiet, compassionate, intelligent man who touched so many lives in such a positive manner. Carmen, your star will forever shine brightly bringing a smile to those who knew "Mr. Masi"

Mr. Masi was truly a quiet, gentle soul with the biggest heart. He did so much for others constantly, my children and I always think of Mr. Masi when we think of OLV. You are all in our thoughts and prayers at this difficult time.

Mr. Masi was the consumate caregiver.-a truly kind man who didn't say much but was always there making sure OLV students were provided a safe & healthy environment. I first encountered his kindness at the age of 4 when I entered OLV as a nervous girl on my first day of junior kindergarten. Too scared to go in to Mrs. Anderson's classroom (just across from his caretaker's room), and having run down the hall to the doors in an effort to catch my daddy before he drove off and who promptly brought me back in. As we walked back to the classroom, Mr. Masi, with mop in hand to clean up the puddles of water trailed in, gave me a reasuuring nod and a kind smile. He was like a gentle giant and for my years there he made sure that I and all of my fellow students had a safe and clean place to learn and grow. From there he started to feed us his yummy pizza on pizza day and then that grew to feeding the entire community. Now, 34 years after meeting him that dark rainy afternoon, I still can recall his kind eyes and gentle manner that made the big and scarry school seem ok after all; a true caretaker to so many. Indeed, and always etched in my memory as the gentle giant. Rest well, and thank you.
