Obituary of Tony Rodway

Passed peacefully away in the loving arms of his wife and family, went to meet his maker on Sunday, December 9, 2012, after a lengthy illness borne with courage, strength, dignity and great fortitude. Left to mourn his passing is his heartbroken wife of 56 years Margaret Anne, daughter Susan (Roy) Browning, Fort Erie, son Steven (Kaz), Saskatchewan, daughters Debra Rodway, Kent, England, Sharon (Les) Hampton, Cheltenham, England and son Nicholas (Brandy), Fort Erie. Grandchildren Anthony Rodway and Kyle LeFebvre, Saskatchewan, Troy Rodway, Fort Erie, Becky, James and Jonathan, England, Vicky, James, Nicholas, Charra and Christian all of London England. Brother of Valorie (David) Coombe, Bournemouth, England, Margaret (James) Richards, Gloucester, England, Gerald (Pat) Rodway, Stroud, England and Keith (Breege) Rodway, Sydney, Australia. He will also be fondly remembered by many more in-laws, nieces, nephews and cousins. Tony was an outstanding member of the community, much loved and respected. He is best known as the founder of Aero-Safe Technologies, Aero-Safe Processing and Aero-Safe Devices. Tony was a great mentor to all his employees and his greatest joy was seeing young people from the local high schools start work at Aero-Safe straight from school and work their way up to become highly skilled people. He shared their pride when they bought their first cars, when they got married and when they bought their first house. Tony held many offices among them being on the Board of the Niagara Parks Commission and The Economic Development Corporation. Tony was the proud recipient of the Yves Landry Award for Innovative Manufacturing Technology Program for the Fort Erie Secondary School and Aero-Safe Technologies Partnership but one of his proudest moments came when he won the Entrepreneur of the Year Award for the Niagara Region in 1997. Benner Funeral Services, 1105 Benner Ave., entrusted with arrangements. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday December 13th from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. Funeral Services will be held on Friday at 11 o’clock in the Benner Chapel. Those who wish may make a memorial contribution to P.S.P. (Progressive Supra Nuclear Palsy)/Parkinson Foundation.
