Obituary of Robert Payne

Payne: Robert Bob passed away at his home, surrounded by the love and presence of his family on June 2nd, 2012 at the age of 68. Loving husband and best friend of Lois. Proud father of Mark (Linda) Prince, Kelley Ann (Dean) Stewart, Jay Payne and Marni (Brian) Gauthier. Adored Poppa of Doug (Tiffany) Stewart, Dan (Allison) Stewart, Drew Gauthier and Julia Gauthier. Sadly missed by his brother Ronald (Joy) Payne, his many friends and his extended family in Mexico, California and Timmins. Bob was a generous man who gave his time and wisdom freely. Active in many charitable and educational organizations within the Town of Fort Erie, he will be missed by amongst others, his friends and colleagues from the Greater Fort Erie Minor Hockey Association, the Fort Erie Kinsmen, The Business Success and Loan Centre, the Fort Erie Public Library Board and the Canadian Cancer Society Relay for Life. A strong family man, Bob and Lois enjoyed their many adventures camping with their family and later on with their friends in the Good Sam Club. He will be fondly remembered as a long time employee of Peace Bridge Brokerage where he retired as Purchasing Manager and served the North American Fleet Association as the Ontario President. Benner Funeral Services, 1105 Benner Ave. Fort Erie, entrusted with arrangements. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 1-3 & 6-9. Funeral Services will be held in the Benner Funeral Chapel on Wednesday at 11 am. Interment to follow in Greenwood Cemetery. If so desired, donations to the Greater Fort Erie Minor Hockey Association, the Canadian Cancer Society or the Diabetes Association would be appreciated by the family.
