Obituary of Giovanni Sferrazza

Sferrazza: Giovanni "John" Passed away at home surrounded by his family on July 28, 2011 after a brave battle with cancer. Beloved husband of the late Antonietta (nee Decembrini). Proud father of Charlie (Stephanie), Joe (Tracie) and Tony. Cherished Nonno of Chanel, Amelia, Antonietta, John, T.J. Natalie and Michael. Much loved brother of Calogera (Calogero) and Salvatore (Antonietta). He will be sadly missed by Lucille Hathaway, his other cherished friends and extended family. Predeceased by his brother Carmelo (Pasqua) Giovanni was the founder of Coliseum Paving, a member of the Knights of Columbus, the Italo Canadian Club and a former member of the Optimist Club. He enjoyed spending time at the Fort Erie Racetrack and was the owner of a number of racehorses. Benner Funeral Services, 1105 Benner Ave., Fort Erie entrusted with arrangements. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 7-9 and Sunday 2-4 & 7-9. Funeral Mass will be offered on Monday at St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Church at 10 am. Entombment to follow in Fairview Mausoleum. If so desired, donations to St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Church Building Fund would be appreciated by the family.
