Obituary of Calogero LoCastro

LoCastro : Calogero "Charlie” Born June 29, 1933 in Siculiana, Sicily. Passed away peacefully on March 3, 2011 at the Greater Niagara General Hospital with his family by his side after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Sadly missed by his beloved wife of 47 years Giovanna, his children Carmela (Jerome) Whillier and Nuccio (Cindy) LoCastro. Most loved Nonno of Jessica and Jeremy Whillier, Nadia LoCastro and great grandson, Jack Whillier. Cherished brother of Caterina (Sam) Frumusa of Fort Erie, Maria (Gerlando), Lorenza, Guiseppina and Vincenza (Guiseppe) and sister in law Pina of Italy. Cherished son in law of Calogera Manzella and brother in law of Leo and Angela Manzella of Woodbridge, Vincenzo (Angela), Nina (Guiseppe) and Margarita (Calogero) of Italy. Beloved Zio Lillo to many nieces and nephew in Canada and Italy. Predeceased by his parents Onofrio and Carmela LoCastro, infant son Onofrio LoCastro, his brothers Giovanni, Salvatore and sister Alfonsa LoCastro and father in law Natale Manzella. He will be missed by his many friends in Canada and Italy. Benner Funeral Services, 1105 Benner Road, Fort Erie, entrusted with arrangements. Family will receive friends on Saturday March 5th from 7-9pm and Sunday March 6th from 2-4 & 7-9pm. Funeral mass service at St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Church, 310 Central Ave, on Monday March 7th at 10am. Entombment at Pleasantview Memorial Gardens in Fonthill, ON. Rest in peace to the greatest husband and father anyone could ask for. May God keep you in his loving arms till we meet again.
