Obituary of Ray Matthews

Matthews, John Raymond - Passed away at the Douglas Memorial Hospital on Friday August 27, 2010 in his 87th year. He was predeceased by his wife Dorothy Matthews, his son John Matthews and his sister Pat Banatti. John is survived by his wife Eva Matthews, children Rick (Linda) Matthews, Debbie (Gary) Possler, Patty (Alan) Plato and Nancy (Terry) Cox, and daughter in-law Victoria Busche, Grandchildren Billy, Tina, Rick, Kelly Matthews, John and Jennifer Possler, Amanda and Philip Plato, Nicole and Allan Cox and 13 great grandchildren. John was a life member of the Fort Erie Fire Company #2 and a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Br. #71. Benner Funeral Services, 1105 Benner Ave., Fort Erie entrusted with arrangements. The family will receive friends on Monday from 2-4 & 7-9. Funeral Services will be held in the Benner Funeral Chapel on Tuesday afternoon at 2 p.m. Interment to follow in Greenwood Cemetery. If so desired, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the St. Paul's Anglican Church Roof Fund would be appreciated by the family.
