Obituary of Frederick Gregson Bolton

Bolton, Frederick Gregson "Fred" After a life well lived, Fred passed away at the Welland General Hospital on July 18th, 2019 at the age of 89. Predeceased by his first wife, Peggy, and his second wife, Helen. He will be missed by his children Craig (Colleen), Kim (Randy Jamieson), Scott (Dan Buchannon) and Stuart (Linda). Wonderful memories are left with grandchildren Jake (Julia), Lucas, Madison, Sydney, Maggie, Graeme, Abby and Matthew. Maverick will hear many stories of his great grandfather. He is survived by the members of the Chickie family. Fred came to Canada at age 23 with little money and few friends. With a work ethic and determination he developed into a successful business and community leader. He worked hard to start the Fort Erie business, Peninsula Plastics, which his son, Craig, now runs. Fred was a committed volunteer and gave his time to the Lions Club, and several organizations involved in helping those in need. He was passionate about many social/political issues and the family will miss the many animated discussions. Benner Funeral Services 1105 Benner Ave., Fort Erie is entrusted with arrangements. The family invite friends to share memories and refreshments at the funeral home on August 11th from 11 am until the time of a service to celebrate Fred's life at 1 o'clock. If so desired, donations to the Alzheimer's Society Canada or United Way Niagara would be appreciated by the family.
