Obituary of Irene Mary Birley

May 17th , 1942-June 1st, 2019-It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Mother and Nana. Irene peacefully passed away at Welland County General Hospital on Saturday June 1st in her 77th year. Loving wife of the late Richard (Dick) Birley from Fort Erie. Cherished Mother of Richard Ryan Birley Jr. and Karen (Shawn) Knutt. Adoring Nana to her grandsons Nicholas and Devlin Knutt. Sadly missed by her brother Robert (Mary) Byers. Irene was predeceased by her parents John and Doris (Dolly) Byers. Irene was loved by many family and friends and will be greatly missed by all that knew her. She enjoyed 5 pin bowling at Carroll's Bowling Lanes and will be greatly missed by her teammates Larry's Girls. At Irene's request cremation has taken place and a private interment will be held at Greenwood Cemetery at a later date. There will be a Celebration of Life for Irene held at the Fort Erie Golf Course in the banquet hall, entrance located off Sunset Drive on Sunday June 16th from 12:00pm-2:00pm.
