Obituary of Jean Elizabeth Fretz

FRETZ, Jean Elizabeth (Bitner) b. April 9, 1931 - It is with great sadness, the Fretz family announces Jean passed away peacefully on Friday, January 25, 2019 at Maple Park Lodge in her 88th year. Cherished and beloved wife of Howard (Jr.) for 68 years. Loving Mother to Lista (Ed), David, Tim (Carol), Lorna (Rick) and Michael (Lisa). Treasured Grandma and Meema of Steven (Theresa), Sarah (Jay), Laura (Andrew), Emily (Jerick), Meredith (David), Jared, Brenda, (Allan), Erin (Mike) and Bonnie. Jean was also blessed with 13 Great-Grandchildren and 1 Great Great-Grandchild. Jean was the dear sister-in-law of Kay Steckley, Lester (Mary) Fretz, Lamar (Eileen) Fretz, Hubert (Bev) Fretz and Kenny (Jill) Fretz. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Pre-deceased by her parents Mary and Joseph Bitner. Also pre-deceased by her siblings, Shirley Bitner, Ethel Hayslip, and Eldon Bitner. The family would like to thank Dr. Che and a special thanks to all the staff at Maple Park Lodge for all their love, care and compassion shown to Jean and the family. BENNER FUNERAL SERVICES, 1105 Benner Ave., entrusted with arrangements. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 29th from 2-4 pm & 7-9 pm. Funeral services will be conducted at the Faith Reformed Church (Blackcreek) on Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at 11 am. Interment will follow in Bertie Brethren in Christ Church Cemetery. If so desired, donations to the Faith Reformed Church or charity of one's choice would be appreciated by the family.
