Obituary of Joseph Malcolm Nagy
Joseph M. Nagy - Department of National Defence, 1949 - 1993. Passed away in his home on Wednesday January 2, 2019 at the age of 89. Predeceased by his wife, Freda (Barnes) Nagy after 62 years of marriage. Also predeceased by his son Perry (Ann) Nagy of Ridgeway, ON. Father of Joan Denton (Frank) of Hamilton, ON and Terry (Patt) of White Rock B.C. Remembered fondly by five grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Predeceased by his parents Frank and Mary Nagy of Regina, SK and sister Emma (George) Tuttosi; survived by his brothers Alexander of Smith Falls, ON, Eugene (Verna) of Prairie River, SK and sister Mary (Ernie) Wootton of Brockville, ON.
Joe spent many happy and satisfying years working with fellow and military civilian members in DND Chilliwack, BC, Halifax, NS, Whitehorse, YT, Victoria, BC, Montreal, PQ, Toronto and Ottawa. He also served Two Tours with the UN in the Middle East. He was a graduate of UBC and Concordia and instilled the importance of education into his children and grandchildren. Wherever he was, he regarded that place as his home, but always returned to his first home area in SK for visits with near relatives.
