Obituary of Dorothy Jane Staples
Staples, Dorothy.
Dorothy Staples (nee Fisher) passed peacefully on October 24th, surrounded by her family. Dorothy, 90, was the proud mother of Chuck (Michelle), John (Barbara), Anne, and Norah (Cory). Beloved grandmother to Simon, Duncan, Danielle, Ashleen, Steven, Johnroy, Richard, Charles, Christopher, Emma, and Hannah. Cherished great-grandmother to Corran, Dakota, Diane, Caressa, Korbin, and Brock. Dorothy was pre-deceased by her husband of 45 years, Harvey, and her brother Ken (Shirley). The family wishes to thank all her good friends at Ridgeway Lions Senior Citizens Complex, and most especially in this last year, the staff and residents at Crescent Park Lodge for their loving care.
Born in the middle of winter, in Rocky Mountain House, Dorothy was a daughter of a WWII veteran, Sandy, and his wife Bessy. She was also a military spouse, mother, and grandmother, and in true military fashion, she moved her family all over the world in service to God and country and continued to encourage and support her military family members in later years.
A devoted Christian, a long-time member of Zion United Church and the UCW, Dorothy will be going home to be laid to rest with her beloved Harvey in Armstrong, B.C. in the new year. In lieu of flowers, donations to Zion United Church, P.O. Box 370, Armstrong BC V0E 1B0 would be appreciated.
