Obituary of Alfred Elijah Baxter

Alfred passed away peacefully at Douglas Memorial Hospital on Thursday October 4th, 2012 with his family by his side. Loving husband of the late Dorothy Baxter. Proud father of John (Kay) Baxter, Judy (Andy) Anderson and Elizabeth Baxter. Cherished grandfather of Matthew Anderson, Adam (Marianne) Anderson, Michael Baxter(Andrea McGee) and Kelly (David) Rode. Beloved great grandfather of Holly, Breelyn, Helena, Peyton and Emma.Sadly missed by his sister in law Betty Ann Baxter and by his nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends. Predeceased by four brothers and one sister Alf was a retired Superintendant with Canada Customs, a member of Royal Canadian Legion Br. #71, having served in WW II with the Army 1st Provost Corps. A proud life member of Fort Erie Volunteer Firefighters Station #1 and a longtime member of St Paul’s Anglican Church. Benner Funeral Services 1105 Benner Ave. Fort Erie entrusted with arrangements. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 6 - 8 and again at St. Paul’s Anglican Church on Wednesday morning from 10 am until the time of service at 11 o’clock. Interment to follow in the churchyard. If so desired, donations to the St. Paul’s Anglican Church or the Poppy Fund of Legion Br. 71 would be appreciated by the family
