Obituary of Phyllis Dorothy Kate Goulding

Phyllis passed away at the Douglas Memorial Hospital on April 18th 2017 at the age of 95. Predeceased by her husband Gordon. She was a devoted mother to Gerald "Gerry" (Dianne), Reginald "Reg" and Trudith "Trudie" and they were by her side during these last difficult days. Much loved by her 8 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Survived by siblings Sydney Hughes and Ronald (June) Marwood. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Phyllis was looking forward to the birth of another great grandchild this summer. Predeceased by her grandson Travis and brothers Edward (Teddy) and Thomas (Tommy).
Family, Church and Community played important roles in Phyllis's life. Together, Gord and her ran the Fort Erie Driving School from 1956 to 2004. She was an active member of the United Church and the UCW. Her support of her family meant involvement in PTAs, the Boy Scouts and sports teams especially the Gordy Girdy Gang. Her community benefited from her time with among others Meals on Wheels.
Benner Funeral Services, 1105 Benner Ave., Fort Erie entrusted with arrangements. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2-4 & 7-9. Services will be held at the St. John's United Church in Stevensville on Monday morning with visiting beginning at 10 and the funeral at 11 o'clock. Interment to follow in McAffee Cemetery. A reception will follow. If so desired, donations to the St. John's United Church Stevensville, the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
