Obituary of Ernest Dueck

After a courageous battle with ALS, Ernie passed away at home surrounded by the love of his family. Ernie leaves behind his devoted wife of 52 years Mary. He was the proud father of Kevin (Ingrid), Jonathan (Keren), Jana and Elissa (Amol) and adored his 5 grandchildren Tristan, Benjamin, Jack, Abigail and Marlowe who brought much joy and delight into his life. Ernie was predeceased by his brother John (Dorothy) and survived by sisters Margaret (Ray) and Sally and his brother Peter (Vickie) as well as many loving nieces and nephews. Ernie was lucky to have had many wonderful people surround him with friendship and caring over his lifetime. Many were classmates from RMC. Our family has lost a wonderful loving man and we will always be guided by his sense of responsibility, his intellect and constant goodwill towards others. Ernie was born on April 7th 1940 in Rosemary Alberta, a small farming community in south central Alberta. After graduating in 1962 from the RMC, he spent 3 years with the RCAF followed by another year lecturing at the RMC. In 1968 he joined Pratt & Whitney and spent 25 years with the company. In 1993 he joined Fleet Industries in Canada where he led for 6 years as the VP and General Manager. Most recently he worked for Bradam Group developing a method of converting waste materials into a clean energy fuel. Benner Funeral Services, Fort Erie Ontario entrusted with arrangements. A Memorial Mass will be held to celebrate Ernie's life on Tuesday December 20th, 2016 at St. Michael's Roman Catholic Church (310 Central Ave. Fort Erie) at 11 am. If so desired, donations to the ALS Society would be appreciated by the family.
