Obituary of Reta Lenore Johnston

Johnston: Reta Lenore Reta Johnston, beloved wife of the late Arthur “Bud” Johnston passed away at the Gilmore Lodge on Tuesday August 2nd, 2011 in her 94th year. Loving mother of Carol (Dave) Hacker and Eileen (Bill) Cotton and the late Cathie Haslinger. Cherished grandmother of Nathan (Courtney), Aaron (Becky), Ryan (Ali), Tyler (Gwynne), Jarod (Helen) and Josh. Proud great grandmother of Anderson, Grant, Story, Bryce, Sydney, Carter, Mya and Anna. Also survived by her sister Irene Thompson and her son in law John Haslinger as well as her extended family and many dear friends including Sharon Thompson. Reta was a Registered Nurse and worked at the Douglas Memorial Hospital, retiring in 1974. Benner Funeral Services, 1105 Benner Ave., Fort Erie entrusted with arrangements. The family will receive friends on Friday August 5th from 7-9 pm. Funeral Services will be held in the Benner Funeral Chapel on Saturday morning at 11 o’clock. Interment to follow in McAffee Cemetery. If so desired, in keeping with Reta’s commitment to the nursing profession, contributions may be made in her memory to the Palliative Care at the Douglas Memorial Hospital or the Victorian Order of Nurses.
