Obituary of Ruth Patricia Hoekstra

Ruth P. Hoekstra of St.Catharines/ Fort Erie, and Koonwarra Victoria, entered into rest early in the morning of October 11th. Irreplaceable and ever caring mom of Owen, Smum to Skylar and Rachel, and beloved wife of Mike. With Ruth's passing we have lost a very bright light in our lives. A graduate of Brock University, Ruth began her career at John Deere, before finding her way to teaching at the DSBN. Her love of adventure lead her to many places, collecting many memories along the way. Through painting she found a way to capture and express those memories with beauty and grace. The family would like to thank Dr.Scher and the kind staff at Douglas Memorial Hospital for Ruth's care. Benner Funeral Services, 1105 Benner Ave., Fort Erie entrusted with arrangements. The family will receive friends on Monday October 15th from 2-4 & 7-9 and from noon on Tuesday until the time of services in the chapel at 1 pm.
