Obituary of Ruth Caroline Blessing

Blessing : Ruth Caroline Ruth passed away at the Greater Niagara General Hospital on Saturday November 19th, 2011 in her 96th year. Predeceased by her first husband Donald G. Haney and her second husband Melvin Blessing. Proud mother of Charlene (Robert) Heckman, Donald (Margaret) Haney and Kathleen Washburn. Loving grandmother of Michelle (Gregory Gwynne) Gordon, Kristen Heckman, Margaret Schieferstein, Colleen (Augusto Duminuco) Haney and Patricia (Brian) O’Rourke. Cherished great grandmother of Shirelle, Brandon, Reilly and Braeden. Ruth will be sadly missed by her extended family, nieces, nephews and many friends. Predeceased by her great granddaughter Carleigh, 3 brothers and 1 sister. Ruth’s strong faith showed in her dedicating her time and energy to organizations such as St. Michael’s CWL where she was a lifetime member, the St. Joseph’s Church choir, OLV Soup canteen and the Shamrock Club. She also served as a Brownie Leader. Benner Funeral Services, 1105 Benner Ave., Fort Erie entrusted with arrangements. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 10 am until the time of service in the Benner Funeral Chapel at 12 noon.
