My condolences to Diane and the whole family. It was priveledge to have met Deogratias over the past few years. He was a wonderful man that was both smart and very caring man. He had an infectous personality that anyone that met him, loved him. Despite his challeges, he loved his family and friends. His memory will always remain with me.

My sincerest condolences to all of you. I remember the day Deo arrived in Fort Erie. People referred to him as the "voice" of Burundi. I came to know Deogratias as a "voice" for those looking for peace and safety in Canada. He served for many years on commnity boards helping refugees and doing legal research for refugee cases. He was a brillant man whose still waters ran deep. I pray the deep love he had for you, his family, will bring you comfort in the hard days ahead. At the end of your journey to freedom, may you find peace my friend.
