Obituary of Anne Marie Griffith
Anne Marie Griffith (Crookes), born July 9, 1941, passed away peacefully at Garrison Place in Fort Erie on September 26, 2024, at the age of 83. She lived a life marked by love, faith, and devotion, always greeting those around her with a warm smile and a heart full of kindness. Anne Marie’s unwavering love for God and others was evident in all she did, and she leaves behind a legacy of compassion, faith, and generosity.
Anne Marie was the beloved wife of nearly 60 years to the late John Wynne Griffith. Dear Darling Sister of Francis Leach of Collingwood Ontario. Spiritually Adopted Mother to Helga Wagnleithner of Fort Erie. Beloved Grandmother to David Griffith and much loved Aunt to David, Jake and Nolan Leach. Dear mother to Karen. Loving friends of Mary Burrison, Jayne Cruikshank, Joan Sider, Eleanor Smith and all those that were so blessed enough to know her.
Anne Marie was an ordained Pastor for many years with the Brethren In Christ Church and continued her ministry as resident chaplain at Garrison Place for the past three years counseling staff and residents. Her Talk and Pray group was cherished by all. The many residents and staff of Garrison Place had a special part of her heart as she fondly referred to this as her home and family.
Anne Marie’s family and friends want to thank the staff of Garrison Place for all of the kind and loving care given to Anne Marie. Thanks also to Dr. Scher and his palliative care team. She will be cheering for the Buffalo Bills from Heaven. Go Bills!
Cremation has taken place. Graveside interment will take place for family and friends at the Bertie Brethren In Christ Church Cemetery in Stevensville (4943 Church Road) on Saturday October 5th at 1:30pm. Refreshments to follow at the Benner Funeral Home at 1105 Benner Ave, L2A 4N8 in Fort Erie from 2-4pm. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to the charity of your choosing.
