Obituary of Larry Parker Stewart
Larry Parker Stewart
Larry, a beloved father, husband, and friend, passed away on Sunday, June 23, 2024, at the age of 69, while on an annual golf trip with long standing friends. His passion for life and the joy he found in his hobbies will be remembered by all who knew him.
Larry was a man who lived life to the fullest. He was a devoted family man, always putting his loved ones first. His love for cars was evident to anyone who knew him; he spent countless hours working on his 1964 Comet and other vehicles, finding peace and satisfaction in every detail. His enthusiasm for fishing brought him tranquility and joy, whether he was on a quiet lake or the open sea, rod in hand and ready for the next big catch. In addition to these passions, Larry also found excitement in snowmobiling, kayaking, embracing the thrill of adventure in every season.
A dedicated hockey fan, Larry rarely missed a Meteor’s or playoff game. Whether cheering from the stands or watching on TV, his love for the sport was infectious. Golf was another of his passions; he found camaraderie and challenge on the golf course, enjoying the game with friends and family alike.
Larry is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Karen, and his cherished children, Troy (Michelle) and Tracy (Jeff) Bouchard. He was a devoted grandfather to Daniel, Beckett and Charlie, who brought immense joy to his life. His siblings Ed (Vivian), Dean (Kelley), Cindy Thibodeau, Leisa (Andy) Muscat, and extended family, his Mother-in-law Winnie Reid, brother-in-law Mike (Margie) Reid, Donnie Reid, and sister-in-law Vera (Wayne) LeBlanc, as well as many nieces and nephews, will also deeply feel his loss. He was also very loved by Daniel’s mother Rebecca. Larry was predeceased by his brother-in-law Dave Thibodeau.
Benner Funeral Services located at 1105 Benner Avenue, Fort Erie, has been entrusted with the arrangements. The family requests that attendees dress casually, in honor of Larry’s laid-back and warm spirit. Friends and family are invited to join us on Tuesday July 2nd from 6 to 8 p.m. and on Wednesday from 11 a.m. until the commencement of the services in the chapel at noon. A celebration of Larry’s life will be held following the service at an alternate location.
In lieu of flowers (due to a family sensitivity), the family kindly asks for donations to C.O.P.E., an organization that was close to Larry’s heart, where he volunteered for many years.
Larry's legacy of love, laughter, and passion for life, along with his constant willingness to lend a helping hand, will live on in the memories of those who were fortunate enough to know him. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
