Maureen passed away peacefully at Gilmore Lodge on Thursday April 4th, 2024 at the age of 91. Loving wife of Anthony. Cherished mother of Michael, Joseph, Guy and Peter (Kim). Loving grandmother of Zachary, Matthew (Michelle), Jordan (Jade), Alyssa and Julia. Proud great-grandmother to Jayla, Jaxon, Madison, and Mason. Sadly missed by her brother-in-law Frank (Donna).
Born in Scarborough, Ontario, Maureen lived her young life in Toronto where she worked in administration at Tip Top Tailors. Maureen and Tony moved to Fort Erie in 1959 and lovingly raised their family. Maureen was a lay minister at St Michael’s Roman Catholic Church, and worked at the Fort Erie Public Library and the Peace Bridge Authority.
Maureen is fondly remembered for her gentle nature and loving disposition.
Benner Funeral Services, 1105 Benner Ave., Fort Erie has been entrusted with arrangements. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 9th from 9:30-10:30 am. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Church on Tuesday, April 9th at 11 o’clock. Interment to follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. If so desired, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated by the family.
