Obituary of Roselinn Sider
It is with the heaviest of hearts that we must say goodbye to Roselinn “Rose” Sider (nee Kiers), who unexpectedly passed away on the morning of Friday, March 29th, 2024, shortly after celebrating her 70th birthday.
Rose was born to Rudy and Greta Kiers in Alberta then moved to Niagara as a young girl and grew up in a loving and nurturing household. She leaves behind cherished memories of her parents, who predeceased her.
For an incredible 53 years, Rose shared a beautiful and devoted marriage with her loving husband, Chuck. Their enduring love and unwavering commitment were an inspiration to all who knew them. Together, they created a home filled with warmth, laughter, and treasured moments.
As a mother, Rose exemplified selflessness and unconditional love. Her children, Kevin (Mechelle) and Sandra (Dieter) Gorges, were blessed to have her as their guiding light throughout their lives. Rose's love and support knew no bounds; she always prioritized her family's needs above her own.
Rose took immense pride in being a grandmother to Dylan. Affectionately known as "GramGram," she wholeheartedly embraced this role and showered him with love, encouragement, and unwavering support. Her consistent presence at Dylan's basketball and baseball games was a testament to her dedication as a grandmother.
Rose leaves behind cherished memories with her siblings Roelina (John) Horton and Al (Grace) Kiers. She also leaves behind numerous sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and many dear friends whom she loved deeply.
For over 25 years, Rose worked at Lincoln Interiors in Virgil as an upholstery seamstress. Her creative mind and flair for artistic projects were evident in everything she touched. From quilting to pen & ink drawings, paper tolling to toll painting, and transforming old or dull furniture into stunning pieces, Rose's talent knew no bounds.
Rose was known for her generous spirit and willingness to lend a helping hand. She selflessly donated her skills and time to others, co-owning Chuck's Place for 10 years where she provided free archery lessons to children, and anyone interested in learning. Additionally, she lovingly made quilts for donation to Birchway Women's Shelter, providing mothers and children a sense of comfort.
Rose will be remembered as a remarkable woman whose creativity brightened the world around her. Her willingness to help others and her unwavering love for her family will forever remain in our hearts.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations can be made to McMaster Children's Hospital of Hamilton in honour of Rose's deep appreciation for the care they provide to Dylan and other children.
The visitation for Rose will be held at Benners Funeral Services, located at 1105 Benner Ave, Fort Erie. Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation on Friday, April 5th, 2024, from 3 pm to 5 pm and 7 pm to 9 pm.
