Obituary of Mary Ellen Cosby

With heavy hearts we must say goodbye to Mary Ellen Cosby who passed away on March 1st 2024 at the Douglas Memorial Hospital at the age of 96.  Loving mother to Mike “Greener”.  She provided guidance and love to her grandchildren Chaz, Carl, Sue, Sarah, Courtney and Joey.  Sadly missed by her 8 great grandchildren and her son in law Gord Gill.  Predeceased by her son Rick Cosby and daughters Susanne Gill and Mary Jo Cosby.

Known as Ma to her children’s friends, her door was always open, her fridge and heart full for anyone that needed it.  She leaves a legacy of kindness and care that will be shared by all those that knew her.

Benner Funeral Services 1105 Benner Ave., Fort Erie entrusted with arrangements.  A graveside service will be conducted at St. John’s Ridgemount Anglican Churchyard on March 16th at 11 am.  Following the interment, a gathering will take place (location to be announced) where stories will be shared, tears will be shed, and a wonderful life will be remembered.

The family express their appreciation to Dr. Csanadi,  Dr. Ephrat, Lisa, Dr. Scher, and the incredible staff of Douglas Memorial Hospital for the compassionate care Mary received.
