Obituary of James Agrette
Agrette, James Born March 13, 1948 in Fort Erie, Ontario.
Jim peacefully passed away in his 75th year on 5/28/2023, at Crescent Park Lodge in Fort Erie, Ontario.
He worked in the family grocery store, Agrette’s Red & White, operated by his parents Eugene and Pearl Agrette, in Fort Erie, Ontario. After the store closed, Jim worked as a butcher in several grocery stores in Fort Erie and Ridgeway Ontario.
He enjoyed attending and betting on thoroughbred race horses, was frequently seen at Fort Erie Race Track with friends from Toronto, Buffalo, NY and Fort Erie.
Jim is survived by siblings, brother, Joseph (Sharon) Agrette, sister, Janis Agrette, nephew, Michael (Ilana) Agrette and great niece and nephews, Charlize, McLean and Darian Agrette, first cousins, Deanna DiMartile, Carmen (Anna) Tartaglia, and Tom Tartaglia (Michael Pullen). He also leaves family members and friends in the Niagara area, Windsor, Ontario, and Colorado.
He’ll be remembered always as smiling, jovial and carefree. A caring son to his mother Pearl, and Uncle and Great Uncle to nephew Michael (Ilana) Agrette and Charlize, Darian and McLean Agrette.
Jim was preceded in death by his father, Eugene Agrette, mother Pearl Agrette, aunts and uncles, Mary (Tony) DiMartile and Elsie (Mike) Tartaglia and first cousin, Robert Tartaglia (Louise).
The family wishes to thank all of Jim’s caregivers and Dr. Spencer for their care and kindness shown to Jim at Crescent Park Lodge.
Special gratitude to cousin Deanna DiMartile, nephew Michael (Ilana Agrette), cousin Tom Tartaglia, Gail Spear and Jack Kenney, Donna Summerville, Debra and Bob Dye, for their ongoing generosity, kindness and support to Jim and family from his transition from home to nursing home and until his passing.
