Obituary of William Raymond Ryan

William R. Ryan (Bill), 93, of Thornton, Ontario, Canada, passed away Sunday, April 16, 2023 in Mount Dora, Florida.  Born in Montreal, Bill was a long-term resident of Fort Erie, Ontario before relocating to Thornton and enjoyed winters on the Gulf Coast of Florida.  Prior to his retirement, he was an executive with Zellers (Hudson’s Bay Company) in Canada and previous W. T. Grant in the US. Bill served in the Central Intelligence Unit of the US Army during the Korean War.  He was a long-term parishioner at Saint Michael Roman Catholic Church in Fort Erie and a member of the Knights of Columbus.  Bill immensely enjoyed music, walking and each and every meal. 

Bill is predeceased by his Wife, Margaret Mary Ryan (née Delehanty), and Son, Dr. William D. Ryan.  Bill is survived by his Son Michael Ryan of New Brunswick, New Jersey and Daughters Kathleen Ryan of Mount Dora, Florida and Theresa Ryan-Dowsett of Thornton, Ontario; Brother Frank Ryan and Sisters Margaret Troy and Patricia Szego of Ontario;  Grandchildren Whitney, Kelsea, Jack, Lisa, Michael, Bronwyn and Melanie; and Great-Grandchildren Theodore, Addy and Daniel.  A Funeral Mass will be held May 13 at 11:00am EST at St. Michael Roman Catholic Church, 310 Central Avenue, Fort Erie, Ontario.
