He was such an amazing and considerate gentleman. I remember him with fondness especially during a time when I was so sick and he stood up for me against those who questioned my illness. What a loving husband he was. My sincere condolences to the family.

Jill and Jane,
So sorry to know that "Uncle Doug" has passed away.
I can only imagine what you're both feeling right now.
I've been reminiscing about Doug this past week and reflecting on how he was one of the most helpful people I've ever known. Definitely a great example of how a man should be with family and friends in many ways.
My deepest condolences on your huge loss. I hope there are many people rallying now to reach out to you and share stories about Doug. For all the good he did he definitely deserves a celebration of his life!
As hard as it is right now, please try to keep those happy memories in the forefront of your mind. He wouldn't want it any other way.

Jill and family....
We have been so saddened to hear of Doug's passing. We have fond memories of Doug, he was always willing and able to help out when we had any kind of problem with our house on Lesbury in Brampton.
Our hearts go out to you as you mourn, but celebrate one of God's finest.
May you feel God's loving arms of comfort and peace in the days ahead.
We look forward to a reunion in Glory.
Love, hugs, and prayers, Neil and Dolores Pickering

Dear Jill and family
Like Doug, I was a lifer at Dixie and we worked together for over 47 years. Doug was a wealth of knowledge and shared it freely. He also had a great sense of humour. He definitely loved his family and his job. We shared an office at one time and had some great conversations. He was a good man and a good friend. He will be missed and remembered.
We would like to express our sincere condolences and let you know that you are all in our thoughts and prayers.

Our hearts are breaking on Woodward Avenue in Brampton. For a finer neighbour or man, we could not have asked. Doug Ashmore was kind, thoughtful, funny, generous of his time, ever cheerful, genuine and authentic. A devoted family man. A super handyman. Our neighbourhood will never be the same. But we are a blessed neighbourhood for having had Doug in our lives to help guide us in our everyday lives. His many stories of his Dale Estate years and Dixie Cup years were his to tell and ours to learn from and enjoy. Thank you, Jill and Jane, for sharing Doug with us. We both loved and admired Doug so very much.
In deepest sorrow, Woodward Avenue neighbours, Rena Miller and Hawley Johnston

Doug was a gift to everyone who ever met him. He never missed an opportunity to share a moment of his time, a kind word, or even a hearty wave with us.

Rob & I are so saddened to hear about Dog’s passing. Rob grew up with Doug around all the time as his family & Jill, Doug and their girls were very close. When I came into the family I found Doug to be kind, encouraging, loving, accepting & supportive. I am including a picture of Jill & Doug from almost 24 years ago. They are holding our first son, Jonah, at his dedication. It is one of my favourite pictures of Doug. The love for family is evident on his face. To Jill, Jane & the rest of the family we are thinking of you & praying for you at this time. Doug will be missed by many!

Our families have known one another for many years. My Grandparents Fred and Mable Winter were great friends of Bob and Isobel and my parents Dot and Don Henshaw. Bob put the last nail in the roof of the house my parents house that they built. Later in years my family moved into my Grandparents house after they had both passed on. Helen and I became close because our sons Aidan and Grant became best friends.
I always knew Doug growing up and thought the world of him. He was always so nice.
My love and thoughts are with the family from my family.
