I was so sad to hear of Richard’s passing. As a first cousin I have fond memories of my time with all four McLennan boys as well as Bob and Vee, sleep overs, family barbecues at the beach, big multi family dinners with our grandfather the late Thomas McLennan.
Richard was a gentle giant, with a great sense of humour. It was Richard who first taught me to swim in the Niagara river, and when I was first learning to play hockey he often took the time to take me aside and share some advice and encouragement.
Unfortunately distance and the everyday stresses of work and raising families limited any contact over the years and for this I am saddened.
It is my profound hope that the memories of Richard will sustain Pat and the entire Richard McLennan clan over the coming weeks and beyond.
Because I am currently visiting my daughter in Western Australia I will be unable to attend Richard’s Celebration of Life, but be assured, I will raise a glass on that day in his memory.

Although it is over 50 years since Richard visited us with his mum and stayed with us in England we remember the visit and as I recall it was not long before his wedding to the lovely Pat. He was so looking forward to it. A few years after that it was a visit from Brian and Keith. That was a lively visit and we had a lot of fun.
It was with sadness that we send our condolences to his family. You are all in our thoughts.

Mike and I send sincere condolences on the devastating loss of Richard. We have many,many memories of Richard's sense of humor. We have shared happy times,sad times and meals with both Pat and Richard. We also share granddaughters that love their Nanny and will miss their Grandpa. Richard will always be remembered with love and a smile.

Dear Pat, Michelle, Scott and families;
I was truly sorry to read of Rich's passing. I just saw him and Pat at Walmart a couple weeks ago and had a quick chat. I have many fond memories of Dufferin Street and the McLennons, from babysitting Michelle and Scott to wedding and baby showers with the awesome neighbours. I know the last few years have been difficult but I will always remember Rich sitting on the front porch when i would start my jog down towards the river and he would always tell me i ran like a gazelle....many years have passed since then and these days I'm lucky to be walking lol. Please accept my condolences he was a kind man and I always enjoyed whenever I would see him around town or sitting on the porch in the old neighbourhood. Rest in Peace Rich...you've earned it.
