With heavy hearts, the family of Nick van Heeren announce his sudden but peaceful passing on Thursday July 29, 2021 at the age of 67. Beloved husband of Marilyn (nee Hawkins) for 43 years. Devoted father of Mary (Patrick), Edward (Crystal), and Kristen van Heeren. Nick enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, and spending time with his family and friends. His sense of humour was always on display and he was a big man with a heart to match. He is now in the loving arms of his Lord and Saviour, and we have the assurance as believers that we will all be together again someday. Rest In Peace, sweetheart.

Friends and family are invited to a time of Visitation on Friday, August 6, 2021 from 11am - 12 noon at Benner Funeral Services, 1105 Benner Ave. Fort Erie. A Chapel Service will follow at 12 noon. Covid regulations require guests to register in at the funeral home upon arrival. Capacity limits are in effect and will be restricted to 80 attendees. Masks must be worn at all times and guests must remain 6 feet apart. For those unable to attend, a Livestream of the service will be available on the Benner Funeral Services Facebook page. For those without Facebook capabilities, a recording of the service will be available on the Benner Funeral Services website for viewing at your convenience by end of day Friday.
