Cathy was a very dedicated mother and Nana. Her family came in front of everything in her life. She became a “Douglas” very early “dating” Jeff at the early age of 13 and never looked back. She was well known for her beautiful gardens and immaculate lawns and was loved by all who knew her. She always wore a smile and even to the end had stunning bright nails that you couldn’t help but notice when she was around. Cathy provided laughs for many right to her passing.
Thank you to Drs Scher, Vandermeer and Chum as well as the St Catharine General Hospital oncology teams. The family is also grateful to the Bayshore home care PSW’s , St Elizabeth palliative care nurses for all their exceptional care and support, keeping Cathy comfortable at home.
God saw you getting tired . A cure was not to be
So he put his arms around you. And whispered “come with me”
With tearful eyes we watched you. And saw you fade away
Although we loved you dearly. We could not make you stay.
A golden heart stopped beating. Your tender hands at rest
God took you home to prove to us. He only took the best.
