We are all so very sad to hear of Moira's passing. She was a very special aunt and friend. From the many happy family occasions back in Scotland, to the trips we all made to Niagara Falls and the trip that Moira and Doug made to New Zealand, we remember them all with great fondness. We may be on the other side of the world, but through the many emails and phone calls have been able to stay very close and find it very hard to think that we will no longer have that contact with Moira again.
Her warmth, kindness and great love for family and friends shone through in everything she said and did.
Remembered always with love from Alan, Sue, Daniel and Campbell (Auckland, New Zealand).

Moira, beautiful inside and out. I am truly blessed to have met Moira as she enriched my life during the darkest of my times. She shared her passion for knitting with me. When I was a little girl, she taught me how to knit blankets for my dolls, which eventually turned into knitting scarves and hats. Moira’s daughter, Kaye, was my big sister through the big brothers big sisters foundation. Moira welcomed me into her home and treated me as part of her family. She was always kind, caring and compassionate. Her smile would light up the room. Meeting Moira and Kaye changed my life and shaped me into the woman I’ve become today. I will forever be grateful for the time I got to spend with Moira. I love you Moira and you will always be in heart.

It is with sadness that I read of Moira's passing. I lived across the street from the Thompsons on Bracken Street. It was a pleasure having Doug and Moira for neighbors. Always nice to see their smiling faces.
My sincere condolences Doug, to you and your family.

I remember when I first met Moira in 1990. I was on a round trip around the Ontario lake. Shortly before that trip I fell in love with Valerie. Even though I was on that trip without Val, I paid a visit to Bracken to get to know my future familiy in law. This scene comes to my mind when I read in the orbituary: "Her home was always open. She loved hosting her daughters’ friends who she treated like extended family." That's exactly what happened that day. I showed up unexpectedly. Claimed that I was the new boyfriend of her daughter Val. And within a split second I was invited into the house for a coffee and cake. That's who Moira was and that's how I will always remember her.

Dear Doug, Valerie and Kaye:
My heartfelt condolences on the passing of Moira; many thoughts and prayers are with you all. How lucky she was to have enjoyed all that she did, not to mention all the grandchildren and great-grandchildren she got to spoil!
We will always remember our times together at Colborne Court, with both our families having arrived from the UK. We got to share in so much fun and so many laughs over the years! How thankful our family was having you lot right next door!
Treasure every memory you have of her and know that she will remain in everyone's hearts always.
Love and hugs. Fiona (McCallum) Lalonde
