Obituary of Sebastiana Tibollo

Sebastiana Tibollo (née Murgante)

Born January 1, 1931 in Accadia, province of Foggia, Italia

Beloved wife of Antonio Tibollo. Cherished mother of Joseph (Carmella), Mary, and Michael Antonio (Mary Carol). Treasured grandmother to Christopher (Jacalyn), Nicholas (Mary), Joshua (Caitlin), Jonathan (Rowan) and Michael James. Proud great grandmother to Margot, Axel and Jaxxon. Our mother lived for her family and was never happier than when everyone was gathered around the dinner table. Sebastiana and Antonio married young in Italy and emigrated to Canada in 1956 with two small children, Joe and Mary, settling in Fort Erie. In 1963, the family was blessed with a third child, Michael, a devoted son whose strength and humour over the years has been a gift to us all. Sebastiana and Antonio worked hard to build a new life in their adopted country. As proud Italian Canadians, they remained grateful to Canada for the opportunities it provided them. April 14 would have marked their 71st year together, and September, their 65th year in Canada. Predeceased by her father, Michele Murgante, mother, Maria (Botticella) Murgante, brothers Antonio, Michele, infant Pasquale, sisters Teresina, Giuseppina, and Lucietta. Survived by her youngest sister, Carmellina, who still lives in the pretty hilltop town of Accadia, as well as many cousins, nephews, nieces and great nephews/nieces in Italy, the U.S. and Canada. The Tibollo family would like to thank all family and friends who have reached out to us during this difficult time and to medical staff and careworkers who nursed my mother through her battle against the scourge of Covid-19. Inseparable to the end, Mamma passed on Wednesday, February 10 with her loving 97 year-old husband at her side.

Dearly loved and forever in our hearts. xox
