SHIELDS: Karen Louise
Passed away unexpectedly at her residence on Wednesday February 3rd, 2021. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Dominic Silvestri and her parents Gerald and Tanya Shields. Loving mother of Keeley Shields-Balyk (Zachari). She is the cherished sister of Todd Shields (Maria) and aunt to Melanie. Dear sister-in-law of Yanet (Pipo). Much loved by the Silvestri Family. Karen had an enthusiasm for life, loved to laugh, and enjoyed helping others, but felt the most joy being surrounded by her friends and family. When Karen was younger, her competitive nature was displayed through many years of playing with the Pelham Minor Baseball Association. She was the co owner of the Dain City Tavern, and most recently, self employed at her company, Wigs-U-Want. Karen was an active member of her church for many years. Spending summer solstice at the beach playing guitar brought her much peace.
A private service will take place on Friday February 12, 2021 at 11AM. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, the service will be broadcasted for public viewing on the Benner Funeral Services facebook page.
