It was a pleasure to know Pat through my contact with her as the Science Consultant for the Niagara Catholic School Board. I treasure the memories of the class hikes we had at Dr. Marcy’s woods and the Stevensville Conservation Area. Pat was an incredible example for so many. My condolences to her family members but know that heaven is celebrating her arrival.

Theresa and family. I was saddened to read about the passing of your mother Patricia. As the former CEO of the Welland Heritage Council and Multicultural Centre, I had the opportunity to work with Patricia to support the needs of newcomers to Canada. My mother, Yvette Ward worked extensively with your mother before I came on board in 1993. . Like you Theresa we too followed in our mothers' footprints. They both left big shoes to fill. Your mother left her mark for the whole community first as an educator and also as a tireless advocate for social justice with newcomers to Canada.
Patricia was always there to help others and her family meant a great deal to her. She will be sadly missed.
Please extend our sincere condolences to your family Theresa. We are thinking of you.

Patricia was a blessing to the community of Fort Erie. We got to know her as she encouraged a small group from our church to get involved in welcoming newcomers to our country. She had experience which she enthusiastically shared with us. Soon Matthew House - Fort Erie became a reality. Patricia's encouragement was very important to us and will be forever treasured. Our condolences to you and your family Theresa.

Mrs. Anzivino taught me in junior and senior kindergarten. She remained an active part of my life growing up and shaped my decision to also become an educator. Many years ago I was walking across a bridge and came across a man in desperate need of first aid. I was alone and afraid I couldn't help him. I took a moment and prayed to God for the strength to know what to do. Just then a car stopped and Mrs. Anzivino was by my side. I saw her from time to time throughout the years when I was home in Fort Erie and am grateful the last time I saw her that I had the time to share with her what a profound impact she had on my life. May her beloved family and friends find peace.

With fond memories of a truly remarkable woman, Patricia Anzovino, I send along heartfelt greetings of sorrow to every member of her family in this time of loss. The Catholic community, along with the wider local Niagara community, has experienced the loss of a woman who exercised her baptismal calling in every way, through her vocation as a teacher of children and as a sure support for many a refugee seeking to enter this country. I recall vividly the many times I enjoyed being with her (and you also, her family) in the variety of activities with which Pat was associated. As a parish priest, I was envious that I never had the opportunity to have had her as a parishioner, but no matter, she touched my life in any case. Pat didn't just listen to the Gospel Sunday after Sunday; she strove to live her Christianity effectively and charitably. A person of her calibre just doesn't come our way that often. I will miss her presence in this Church of ours. (Fr.) Peter T. Rowe

My deepest sympathies and condolences to her family. I was fortunate to have met her on a number of occasions. She and her husband always had an open door when her children brought friends over. Their hospitality knew no bounds. My prayers for everyone during their time of grief, and for the repose of her soul. Heaven is happy to have her and she will watch over her family from above. Of this I am certain.

I have had a luck to work alongside Patricia's son, Pat for several years. This concept of "Ubuntu", has truly passed on to him. She has created a beautiful legacy in the people she has met. We in turn are lucky to experiance the caring nature that she has passed onto her familly and friends. Prayers and enduring strenght are sent to Patricia's family.

Ms. Anzovino was an inspirational, exceptionally incredible woman. After having experienced her teachings and sense of justice in junior and senior kindergarten she continued to shape and influence me. I admire what she managed to accomplish in her many years on this earth. She definitely made an impact on my life and the lives of many others. Her example of what it means to be part of a community and to give back will continue to inspire me. Heaven gained a motivated angel! My thoughts are with your family and friends, may she Rest In Peace.

We are very sorry to hear of Patricia's death. We spent many Friday nights together helping refugees and new-comers. She had a wonderful sense of humour and dedication. We remember in particular how she admonished several Immigration officers to get their cooperation with refugees. The statement centered on the children of the officers, most of whom lived in Fort Erie. She told them have you ever seen a sixteen-year old held back in Kindergarden? She opened her home, her heart, and this community to refugees. We remember how Theresa came home unexpectedly from school and found that her bedroom had been given to a refugee.
May God be with you all and may she rest in peace.

Dear members of the Anzovino family:
I am very sorry to learn about your mom/grandmother’s passing. Patricia lived out her baptismal commitment in word and deed. She was a faithful member of St. Michael’s parish. In her life of service to others, she contributed much as a teacher who helped to evangelize young students in the Catholic faith. She responded to a pressing and immediate need by helping refugees settle in Canada. May the Risen Christ welcome Patricia to her heavenly home. I will celebrate a Mass for the repose of her soul and I pray that God may comfort you in your sorrow.
With prayers and sympathy,
Fr. Derek Pedersen.
