Cheryl, so sorry to read about Bob’s passing. I will always remember looking forward to him coming into the TD branch on Gilmore Rd where I worked as Head Teller. He always had a joke and a smile for us. He would always make us laugh. He brightened our day.

Mr. Allen was THE BEST! The first memory of him I have is as far back as early elementary school when we lived down the street from him on Wintermute St. He always let Jeff and I stack the chairs in his funeral home after a service and we enjoyed helping often. The smell of his pipe back in the day still resonates with me today. Through elementary, middle school and into the high school years, Mr. Allen was always there supporting Jeff and the sports program both at the schools and in the community. He was an expected presence at games and fundraisers. He was always a very direct, no nonsense parent who told us what he thought and what he expected of people around him. He also had a funny side as well, his sense of humor frequently had a sarcastic tone to it and we had many laughs over the years. When Jeff was sick, he was always the pillar of strength and again, no nonsense, telling us the way things were and not sugar-coating things. THAT was Bob. I remember he and I standing outside the hospital shortly after I arrived to see Jeff from Florida in 20 degree weather. He was giving me an update on Jeff’s condition, I was FREEZING and it felt like we were out there for hours. He picked up on my shivering and began laughing and telling me “what’s the matter? Your blood got thin down there has it?” He was a very thoughtful and selfless husband, dad, grandfather and a second dad to so so many in the Community whom had the pleasure to cross paths with. He was one who realized that family was ALWAYS first. Truly an all around great guy. He will be sorely missed. Mrs. Allen, my heart breaks for you, Shari, Bryson, Darcy and the rest of his extended family AND the Fort Erie Community. It was good catching up with you today and I am sorry for all of your loss. He truly was one of the good guys.
Love to you all.
Bob and Nicki Offermann xoxo
