Obituary of Linda Ford
Linda Marie Ford
January 2, 1949 - January 6, 2015
Fort Erie, Ontario
Linda Marie Ford, daughter of Kathleen Hunt and Donald Jolliffe, was a private, often stubborn woman who was sometimes religious - when she wasn't busy being non religious but spiritual in her own way. She was a worker, a lover - she had four husbands after all - and more than anything, a giver, passed away after 66 years, on January 6, 2015.
Linda was born and raised in Ontario and, except for a brief move to Alberta, she remained in Ontario, making her home wherever she wound up. She had an enormous amount of love to give, having been married four times, to Charlie, Patrick, Bud and Lloyd - all of whom passed on before her.
Linda is survived by her sister Cathy (& Stu) who Linda honoured with her choice to be with in her final days - a testament perhaps to her spirituality and unconditional love and support; as well Donna, Louise and Ronald.
Mother to five children- Karen (& John), Melissa (&Kim), Mike (& Chantel), Don (& Jenn) and Ryan as well as her grandchildren, Amanda, Lana, Brandon, Alyssia, Leila, Gabriel, Samantha, Trinity, Ryalee, Joseph, Avah, Casey and and her unofficially adopted daughter, Connie.
One of the hardest working people around, she worked her entire life labouring in the service of others. She refused to quit even when bruised, broken and worn out. She did so without complaint and with no need of recognition. It was just something, she believed, you were supposed to do.
Above all of these, she was, of course, a giver. Regardless of who you were or where you were from, she would provide for you, whether she could or not. Furniture from her apartment on several occasions, or clothing, food or money. She gave, right up to the end, of course. She would have it no other way.
As a private person - had she been reading along she would more likely than not rolling her eyes while giving that look as only she could do - there will be no service, no visitation. Linda made sure this was all promised as she requested.
Finally, to honour her, it is asked that rather than flowers or donations, you seek out those close to you, your family, friends even your pets and bless them with the gift of your time and your presence. Forgive transgressions and perceived wrongs. You cannot make up for lost time.
Ending simply and with few words, as was her way - Farewell Sister, Mother, Grandmother and Friend to many.
