Matt was a great person. Dining partner with my Dad Jim for the whole time he lived at Gilmore Lodge they talked and he was very congenial even when my Mom couldn't talk he always asked how are you Bev.. After my Mom passed I started giving him a kiss hello on the forehead just like I give my Dad. He would laugh and say thank you, always happy and smiling. He so enjoyed the times he spent with Margrete and you colud see the joy in his face. I am so sorry I couldn't be at the funeral as I was away for a few days. My thoughts and prayers are with you all at this time.
I really liked your Dad immensley and pray he is in a better place without pain.

Uncle Matt will be dearly missed by all that knew him. Prayers for strength during this time. Pleasant memories during our childhood in Canada and when he came for Dad and Moms 50th anniversary celebration. Thinking of all his family during this time. Love Pam

I met Matt many years ago when I worked on Jarvis t. But more recently he and my Mom were mates at Gilmore Lodge. Matt loved the birthday parties , the outdoors & life in general. He will be sorely missed, Pat & Elsie

My dear Uncle Matt was one of the kindest men I have ever met. He was a truly loving person and a great uncle. I am from NY and it was Uncle Matt who introduced me to putting "vinegar" on french fries! and he loved "Fish and Chips." The things we remember in our hearts can never be taken away. I was in awe of the care he gave to my aunt Anna - my mom, Mary Hoanzl's sister. Our family was fortunate to have an honorable, compassionate to be the husband of Ann. I am saddened that I can't be there with my cousines who I love deeply. Much gratitude to all those that took care of Uncle Matt and loved him. His greatest concern - that I remember - is that everyone else was alright. Love, your niece, Eileen
