Obituary of James Arthur Hartman
HARTMAN; James Arthur. On Friday February 7, 2014 at the Douglas Memorial Hospital in his 86th year. Beloved husband for 65 years of Margaret (Parson). Dear father of William "Bill" Hartman (Diane) of Stevensville, Debi Lucas (Paul) and Bev Blair (Dan) all of Fort Erie. Beloved grandfather of Jillian (Jamie), Scott (Michelle), Kati (Greg), Dayna (Will) and Bryan (Jackie). Great-grandfather of 11. Predeceased by his sister Patricia Lubberts whose husband John resides in Ridgeway, grandson Kevin Hartman and great grand-son Titus Grelowski. James was a Canadian Customs Officers at the Peace Bridge for more than 30 years. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and wood carver. He was a proud founding member and past president of the Stevensville Conservation Club and a member of the Stevensville Carvers Club. Above all he was devoted husband, father and grandfather. Benner Funeral Services, 1105 Benner St., Fort Erie, has been entrusted with funeral arrangement. Cremation has taken place. A family service with close friends will be held on Monday February 10, 2014 at 2 p.m. at St. Johns Stevensville United Church, 14789 Sodom Rd. Stevensville, ON. Entombment of the ashes will follow at McAffee Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy donations to the Stevensville Conservation Club would be appreciated.
