Obituary of Grace Ariel Farrell

Farrell : Grace Ariel (nee Leigh) Passed away on January 27th, 2015 at Maple Park Lodge in her 88th, year. Beloved wife of the late J. Fraser Farrell(1987) and James Kelly (1982). Mother of Sandi Leigh (nee Kelly) Montgomery. Mother in law of Moe Montgomery (Barb). Sadly missed by their family. Predeceased by her parents John Albert Leigh and Evelyn (Lumsden). Also survived by her nieces and nephews. Sister of the late John Bruce Leigh and Lois (Maves) of Wisconsin U.S.A. and family, the late Graydon Robert Leigh, and the late Leslie (Thomas) of Trenton and family. Niece of the late William Lumsden, the late Eleanor and Lena of Welland and their families. Grace had many dear friends in Niagara Falls and Fort Erie. She was very active in sports at Maple Street School and N.F.C.V.I. in Niagara Falls, Ontario. Grace moved to Fort Erie in 1957 and was employed at the Consumers Gas Company for 28 years. She was very active in the P.T.A. and on the boards of the Stamford and Fort Erie Skating Clubs, Past President of the Fort Erie Rotary Annes, Past President of the Douglas Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and a member for many years. She also served on the Douglas Memorial Hospital Board for 3 years. Grace received life membership pins from the Hospital Auxiliary and Ontario Hospital Auxiliary and was recipient of the 2004 Ontario Volunteer Award. Benner Funeral Services 1105 Benner Ave Fort Erie entrusted with arrangements. The family will receive friends Saturday January 31st, 2015 from 10 am until the time of service in the chapel at 11 am.
