Obituary of John David Steckley

John Passed away at the Welland County General Hospital on Tuesday March 11th, 2014 at the age of 81. Loving husband for nearly 57 years of Arlene. Cherished father of Larry (Linda) Steckley, Bob (Debbie) Steckley, Jeff (Leslie) Steckley. Proud Poppa of Kailee, Kyle, Jessica, Megan, Kaitlyn, Bryan, Brooke, Lauren and Miranda Towsley. Survived by his brother Earl (Linda) Steckley. Also survived by his many friends and extended family and friends. Predeceased by his parents Elmer and Ester Steckley, son John Jr. and brother Alvin. John was a well-known volunteer and supporter of Fort Erie Minor Hockey Benner Funeral Services, 1105 Benner Ave. Fort Erie entrusted with arrangements. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 1-3 and 6-9. Funeral Services will be held in the Benner Funeral Chapel on Friday morning at 11 o'clock. If so desired, contributions in John's memory may be made to the Fort Erie Minor Hockey Association or Bertie Church Memorial Fund. Cards available at the funeral home.
